Ironman Frankfurt 2012 - The stats - for Stato Nerds.

A few stats to highlight what went in to the Ironman training.

  • 37 Weeks
  • 259 Days

  • Total planned training time: 18 Days:9 Hours:15 Minutes – which is 441 Hours
  • Total Actual training time: 15 Days:3Hours:56 Minutes – which is 363 Hours.  That means I achieved 82% of my planned training time.

  • Total overall was 3693 Miles covered in training – made up of:
  • Swim 58 Times for    147000 Metres (91 Miles) at an average speed of 2252 Metres/Hour or 2.36 Mins/100Metres
  • Bike 111 Times for    2857 Miles at an average speed of 15.40 MPH
  • Run 112 Times for    744 Miles at an average pace of 09.22 Mins/Mile

  • Calories Burned 166306 which is the equivalent of 66 days worth of caloric intake. (This does not count any swimming as it is impossible to work out Caloric usage for swimming)
  • Average Heart Rate in training sessions was 78% of Max at 141 bpm.

  • During the 259 Days I completed 287 training sessions – which is more than one per day on average.
  • My biggest week of training was 17Hrs and 21 Minutes
Sounds like quite a lot just for 1 event that was all done in just over 13½ hours.
