Lost. One Lung. Last seen exiting my chest on Sunday. If found please call me 0800 CANT BREATHE.

Well that really sucked!

I've pretty much been off the radar and off my feet for the best part of two weeks now.
It's amazing how something as simple as a Common Cold can really knock you flat.

From developing a bit of a sniffle to having pretty restricted breathing in the space of about 2 days meant that I was out of action and there was bugger all I could do about it.

I finally got back to some form of exercise yesterday, with a short 6 mile run to collect my car.  I purposely took it easy to just ease myself back in again and see how I felt.  Just as well!
At about 3 miles I stopped at traffic lights and thought I was going to leave a lung on the bonnet of the car stopped beside me at the lights.  The coughing was not pretty and I seriously thought I was going to throw up.  Combine that feeling with legs made of lead and a total absence of any fitness meant that I was feeling pretty sorry for myself.

Thankfully after another half mile my breathing came back under control and my lung managed to re-lodge itself back in my chest cavity.  The next few miles went reasonably well, albeit at a pace that was very close to 9 mins per mile.  That was pretty depressing as I had regularly been knocking this run out at a lower heart rate and average pace of about 8.15 per mile.

Its good to be back on my feet but I now have a lot of rebuilding to so whilst still trying to balance my recovery as I know that I'm still not completely healthy again.

Today I did my cycle commute to and from work and once again I took it pretty easy.
As luck would have it there was very little traffic because of the Easter School holidays and I actually did a best ever time both down and home.  It was nothing to do with my fitness and more to do with the lack of congestion on the roads.

I have decided to skip swimming as I know that my minor breathing problems which are still persisting would be multiplied in the swimming pool.

With only 15 weeks now until Zurich, I am feeling under a lot of pressure to get healthy and build a really solid block on uninterrupted quality training.  I am a bit scared of failing in this but I am hopeful.

It would be nice to get a reasonable week of training in this week and get back to health and then hit the next 14 weeks like Chuck Norris hitting a Baddie through a wall.
